Don’t you love a good story? I know I do.  It’s like our brains are wired to pay attention and create mental pictures as we listen.  By listening to other people’s stories we learn, remember, and make connections between their experiences and our own.  Today we are going to share some of our own stories from memorable PD experiences, and hopefully they will inspire you to go make your awesome PD stories.

Lessons Learned

Dennis –  Read the “Terms of Service”  Example: https://www.storyspheres.com/terms (18 and over? Really?)

Chris – In relationships that have unequal power, it is nearly impossible to have open and honest communication. Trust is very difficult to maintain. If you are not constantly working at it, trust will be lost.

Fun Fact

It would cost $852 Quadrillion to build an actual Death Star. (According to Forbes)

DENNIS

  1. ISTE Atlanta 2014. Lesson learned: Introduce yourself, talk to people, you can learn more in a small conversation than in a packed keynote.
  2. EdCamp Los Angeles “Teacher Confessions”  Lesson Learned: Take a reality check.  It’s easy to look at what people post online and think they are SO much more amazing than you.  BUT not everything we do is tweet-worthy.
  3. CUE 2007 – Lesson Learned: When opportunity presents itself, jump in!
