Audio Review # 56 | Screencast-O-Matic Will Capture Your Heart … And Cast It! (Rebroadcast)

Screencast-O-Matic is a screen-capture service that has a highly functional free version, and a powerful and easy subscription plan that doesn’t break the bank. If you use, or wish to use, screen capture technology, for flipping your class for example, please try this tool. You can record your screen, yourself, or both, and alternate between cameras. With subscription you gain access to point-and-click editing tools that are simply easy to use.

Concerns

None.

Sample Uses

Oh, if you flip, please look at Screencast-O-Matic. Pay the $15, get the editing and distribution functions, and have fun.

Do I plan to use it?

Maybe. I do not flip at this point, but I do create multimedia pieces to establish context when the class is investigating primary source documents. I can see myself playing with Screencast-O-Matic. Certainly, if I need screen capture I will go to this service. IF I need bells and whistles, I will spend the $15 for a year’s license.

In fact, the more I think of it, the more I want to find a use for this service. I love it!
