This app has been around for a long time and I’ve been using it for years.  A few days ago I needed a tool to create a comic with my class and so I went on the search to see if there was something better out there.  The answer, there isn’t.  Comic life is still the best app to use if you want to create stunning comics with your students.

Teaching students to create comics that are actually well done and carry meaning can take a lot of time and effort.  It always seems to suprise teachers how much goes into these creations so be ready for it to take longer than you expect.

Sample Uses

  • Great for a writing unit
  • Extensions to reading or writing
  • Vocabulary building (create a comic that explains a new word)

Check out the blog on their website for more ideas!

Do I plan to use it?

I haven’t got the funding yet to get it loaded on our devices but as soon as I do, YES!

Commitment and Learning Curve

This is a very impressive program and so it has tons of tools and options you can use.  As a result it requires a certain amount of time and energy for someone to learn how to use it.  However, if you want to create amazing comics, it’s totally worth it.

Best for ES MS or HS?
