The goal of SwiftKey is to make your typing easier and faster.  It uses several different tools to do that.  One way is that it allows you to swipe to type words instead of typing each letter individually and it also uses predictive typing to guess which word you are most likely typing next.  The predictions become more and more accurate the more you use the app.
