“In the universe of computer science, the definition and application of computational thinking is widely acknowledged as a pathway to problem solving, easily transferable to other academic subjects and even everyday life.”
“Not everybody should know how to code, but we all will benefit from the logic and sequential thinking that comes from being exposed to coding.”
Code.org thinks – “that every student in every school should have the opportunity to learn computer science. We believe computer science should be part of core curriculum, alongside other courses such as biology, chemistry or algebra.”
Two camps in Education – Can both exist side by side?
- We need to teach computer programing. Technology is a separate subject.
- We need integrate technology across all curriculum and make tech use as ubiquitous as using paper and pencil.
