Remember JFK’s “Moon Speech”?

“We choose to go to the moon…not because it’s easy but because it’s hard.”

Two key words there:  CHOOSE and HARD

If we CHOOSE our learning (challenges, games, creative endeavors) we intentionally choose something that is HARD!  Why?

The idea of “Productive Struggle”  leads students to “the holy grail of transformational teaching – the epiphany.”

“Kids who don’t like school say it’s not because it’s too hard, but because it BORING!” – Seymore Papert

Project-Based Learning combines rigor with interest, leading to potentially outstanding academic and social/emotional success

“The cure for boredom is curiosity. There is no cure for curiosity”
